‘The Chair’ is a new Netflix comedy series starring ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and ‘Killing Eve’ star Sandra Oh. The show follows Dr. Ji-Yoon Kim, who has become the first woman chair of the English department at Pembroke University. Ji-Yoon has to juggle both her administrative duties and her duties as a mother to young daughter Ju Ju. She also finds herself wondering if her platonic relationship with fellow professor Bill Dobson is becoming something more. When Bill is filmed doing something controversial during class, the student body calls for accountability. Ji-Yoon’s life gets turned upside down as she tries to figure out the right move for everyone. The show as created by Amanda Peet and also stars Jay Duplass, Holland Taylor, Bob Balaban, and David Morse. The series consists of 6 episodes, all of which are available on August 20.
